A Podcast by Kristen & Andrew Van Noy

Like A
Diamond

Pressure. Heat. Transformation.

Real stories of struggle, trials, and the breathtaking beauty that emerges on the other side. Because diamonds aren't formed in comfort — and neither are we.

Trials that
shape us into
something rare

Deep in the earth, under conditions no living thing could survive, something extraordinary happens. Carbon — ordinary carbon — is transformed into the hardest, most brilliant substance in nature.

We believe the same is true of the human spirit. The pressures, heartbreaks, and impossible seasons we face aren't accidents. They are the forge.

Real Stories

Unfiltered conversations with people who have walked through fire — and found purpose on the other side.

Deep Faith

Rooted in the belief that we are not shaped by trials despite our faith, but because of it.

Hope & Renewal

Every episode ends where diamonds begin — with the reminder that brilliance is the destination.

(Written by her husband :) Kristen Van Noy understands the refining process, unfortunately. Many life experiences has forced her to experience the heat and pressure that has turned her into a beautiful and rare gem that she is.

Most important to Kristen, is her role as mother. She has two biological children, two adopted children, and has fostered 6 other children. When she needs a break from her chaotic life, she goes to the neonatal intensive care unit in Provo, UT to cuddle infants (She is seriously amazing!). She has officially become a baby whisperer.

Kristen loves yoga, walks in the mountains, but most importantly, wake surfing. Her two happy places on earth are Lake Powell and Island Park, ID. Kristen is typically the light of every gathering and attracts everyone that enters into her orbit. Kristen is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside! Her husband Andrew can't wait for the world to get to see what he fell in love with 15 years ago!

Andrew Van Noy is no stranger to pressure. As an entrepreneur, husband, father, and man of faith, he has faced seasons that tested everything he believed about himself and the world around him. Those seasons did not break him — they forged him.

At 17 months old, Andrew was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Retinoblastoma. The only way to save his life was to remove his eye. Growing up with one eye provided Andrew with unique life challenges that have ultimately shaped him into the man he is today. During Covid, Andrew got bored and started designing a new artificial eye that could change the "victim" narrative he had always replayed in his head. With the help of Tressor Jewlers in Salt Lake City, and his favorite Occularist Travis Petersen, they made a new eye that had a real diamond in place of the pupil.

This new "Diamond Eye", immediately changed the script. What was once a liability, is now an asset. Liberated by his old story, Andrew set out to show the world that the very challenges in life that can hold you down can be the ones that set you free. Andrew's greatest accomplishments in life was convincing his beautiful wife Kristen to marry him. They are the parents to 4 wonderful children and have fostered 8 children total. Andrew is an executive at a BioTech company with the mission of finding a better way to treat cancer!

#7- How She Survived the Unthinkable Loss of Her Son

What would you do if you lost your child in an instant? She takes us through the unimaginable moments in the emergency room, the overwhelming grief that followed, and the unexpected ways she found hope in the darkest season of her life. Rather than asking God to take away her pain, Becky prayed for something different: “I don’t want You to heal me. I just want You to hold me.” That simple prayer became the turning point in her healing journey. In this conversation, we discuss: * What it’s like to lose a child unexpectedly * Processing trauma and PTSD after tragedy * Finding hope when miracles don’t look the way we expect * Signs, tender mercies, and moments that brought peace * Forgiving the driver involved in the accident * Helping children and spouses navigate grief together * How faith can sustain us when life no longer makes sense Whether you are grieving the loss of a loved one, walking through unimaginable hardship, or searching for hope, Becky’s story is a powerful reminder that we are never truly alone.
